Female Political Voice
Check out Heather’s recent political projects!
Are you in need of a female voiceover for a political ad?
2020 was a very busy political season and one of the costliest election cycles in U.S. history. On Television, Radio, YouTube and Facebook – just about everywhere we were, we saw and heard ads from Republicans, Democrats and Independents. There were ads not only for the Presidential, Federal Senate and House races, but many more, state legislative elections, municipal elections, tax levies, school board races, mayoral races, city council, infrastructure initiatives, votes on marijuana legalization and many, many more issues and 2022 is heating up to look like a wild ride for sure!
Political ads have been been a huge force in our election process for quite some time. Print was king for hundreds of years but now political content is being created for television, radio, websites, YouTube, Facebook Ads, Instagram Twitter, etc. Nothing is really new except the sheer volume! 2022 is nearly here and everyone will be eating, breathing and sleeping political ads. For those who create this content, you need reliable, talented, professional voiceover talent who are ready to fulfill your voice over needs quickly. Chances are you will continue to be inundated with so much of this work that you’re going to need a political voice at your beck and call. Heather is such a voice.
Heather has been honored to have voiced ads for such high profile elections as the recent Kansas gubernatorial race, an ad against the nationally profiled Roy Moore Senate race and many others.
Here in the United States, politics are very polarized, to put it mildly, and U.S. citizens have so many messages that they will have to sort through. Therefore, it is imperative that the right voice is telling your political story. Your voice over talent must speak directly to the viewer, listener and be able to cut through all the other chatter. The viewer, listener needs to be able to not only hear the voice but feel the voice. They need to believe that the political ad is telling them what they need or want to hear. Whether the voter needs to feel safe and protected or alarmed and protective, the voting public now insists on believability.
It’s important that the right voice connects with your viewers and listeners. Perhaps your project needs a warm, wholesome mother voice to let people know that your candidate is trustworthy (positive ads). They want to be comforted and to know that things are good. In the alternative, you may need a voice that is giving a warning about a particular candidate or a proposed law (negative ad). Heather has voiced for projects of both types and understands these need to be handled in very different ways.
Whether it is an issue about safety or gun rights, or abortion rights or a taxation without representation, a candidate that they really, really like or a candidate that they really, really don’t like, the voice of the project needs to resonate with that voter so that that that voter knows that they are being heard. Authenticity leads to votes and isn’t this why political ads are made?
It takes someone who is skilled in reading political copy. Heather gets the undertones and subtext of what’s really being said. It’s more than ever to realize now that every vote matters. Therefore, it’s more important than ever to make sure that the voice of your candidate or your institution suits the project perfectly.
Women had a big say so in the 2020 election cycle and it looks like 2022 will be no different. Gone are the days of the big, authoritative male voice telling people how to vote. People want to hear from someone just like them. Heather’s is 100% authentic as an authoritative, knowledgeable, warm, suburban white female.
No matter how one feels, no matter what the political affiliation, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved and paying attention to politics. For some people, it’s a very scary time, others feel back on track. Whatever the case, the next political season will be one for the history books. As the content creators, it will be fast and furious!
Heather records her projects from her professional studio. She records on a Sennheiser MKH416 microphone, uses an Audient iD14 as her interface/preamp and used Adobe Audition as her recording software. Therefore, the audio quality is top notch and because it is recorded in her home studio, the turnaround is lightening fast. You can consider Heather a part of your team.
